Rebellion End User Licence Agreement (EULA)

Effective date: 4 October 2026 · Version 1.1

This agreement is between you and APERTURESyndicate OÜ (registry code 17384111, VAT EE102972654), Priisle tee 8, Lasnamäe linnaosa, Tallinn, Harju maakond, 13914, Estonia ("we", "us"), about your use of the game Rebellion: The price of gazing upon the gods (Rebellion, the "Game").

It supplements the Terms of Service and the Acceptable Use Policy and sits below them: where they conflict, the platform-level document controls (Section 3 of the Terms of Service). If you use the Game as a consumer, nothing in this agreement limits your rights under EU law or the law of Estonia.

We write these documents in good faith and keep them accurate to how the game actually works. They have not yet been reviewed by qualified Estonian legal counsel.

1. Acceptance

You accept this agreement when you install or run the Game — with or without an APERTURESyndicate account. With an account, it forms part of the single agreement described in Section 3 of the Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not install the Game, or uninstall it.

2. What "the Game" is

The Game is the Rebellion executables, the engine and libraries built into it, its models, textures, interface, texts, sounds, world and characters, and the updates we release for it. The Game is licensed, not sold: you receive the right to use a copy, not rights in the Game itself.

Third-party components inside the Game — the Godot engine, the .NET runtime, fonts and libraries — are distributed under their own licences. For those components their licences take precedence over this agreement; the list is in Third-Party Licences & Marks.

3. Your licence

While this agreement is in force, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable licence to:

  • install the Game on computers you control and play it for your personal, non-commercial entertainment;
  • play online with other people through our relay — on the terms of the Online Play & Squad Rules;
  • show the Game in streams, videos and screenshots, including for money — on the terms of Streams, Videos & Screenshots.

The licence can be revoked only on the grounds in Section 9.

4. What you may not do

Without our written consent you may not:

  1. Resell or hand out the Game. Sell, rent, lend or sublicense the Game, or distribute its builds, installation packages or parts of them outside ASInstaller.
  2. Distribute a modified Game. Publish modified builds, patches to the executables, or models, textures, texts and sounds extracted from the Game, or use them in other products.
  3. Take the Game apart beyond what the law allows. Decompiling, disassembling and reverse engineering are permitted only to the extent a mandatory rule expressly allows — for example, for interoperability under Article 6 of Directive 2009/24/EC; you may observe, study and test how the program works while running it, under its Article 5(3).
  4. Cheat in or interfere with network play. Use cheats, trainers, memory or packet editors, forge game messages, deliberately crash or desynchronise other people's sessions, bypass the version check or the relay's limits, or impersonate another player.
  5. Use our servers for anything but playing. Push data unrelated to Rebellion through the relay, overload it, scan it or attack it.
  6. Remove notices. Remove or alter our copyright, licence and trademark notices, or those of third-party components.
  7. Break the law with the Game, including sanctions and export-control rules (Section 4 of the Terms of Service).

Mods. There is no official mod support. Changing the Game's files on your own computer is at your own risk: we do not support a Game changed that way, we do not repair saves it damages, and a modified build will not get into a network game — the Game checks every participant's version and balance files. Distributing changes is not allowed (item 2).

5. Account and online features

Single-player works without an account. Squads, network play and Resonance music need an APERTURESyndicate account, and the Terms of Service apply to them — including the rules on account security (Section 5) and moderation (Sections 10–11).

Online features depend on our servers. We may change them, limit load on them, and stop them; if online features ever become part of a paid purchase, any reduction of what you paid for is governed by Section 14 of the Terms of Service.

6. Updates

We release updates through ASInstaller: fixes, new content, balance changes and the removal of features. Updates are part of the Game and are covered by this agreement. How they install and what they mean for your saves is in Getting the Game & Updates.

Network play requires the same version: a participant with an older or modified build will not get into a squad. We do not guarantee that an older version will keep working with our servers.

7. Your content

The name you give your village, and the nickname and avatar on your profile, are your content. You keep your rights in it and give us the same technical licence as in Section 6 of the Terms of Service, to the extent needed to deliver it to your squad. What you may not write is in the Online Play & Squad Rules.

Suggestions and ideas you send us about Rebellion we may use without any obligation or payment to you. This does not cover your content in the Game.

8. Rights in the Game

The Game, its code, world, characters, texts, models, textures, interface, sounds and logo belong to APERTURESyndicate OÜ or its licensors. In-game items (including cosmetic items, should they appear), souls, villages and progress are part of the Game: they are not your property, have no monetary value, and cannot be sold or transferred outside the Game.

9. Term and termination

This agreement runs for as long as you use the Game. You end it by uninstalling the Game.

We may end your licence or restrict your access to online features for a material breach of this agreement, the Online Play & Squad Rules or the Acceptable Use Policy — following Section 11 of the Terms of Service: with notice, an opportunity to fix the breach where that is reasonable, and always with a statement of reasons. Without warning only in the most serious cases listed there.

After termination, delete your copies of the Game. Your local saves remain your files — how to delete them is in Saves, Progress & Support. Sections 4, 8 and 10–13 survive.

10. Warranties

We make the Game with reasonable care and skill. Rebellion is in active development, and beyond that, to the extent the law allows, the Game is provided "as is": we do not promise that it will run without errors or crashes, on every computer, that saves will survive every update, or that online features will always be available.

This does not affect your consumer rights regarding the conformity of digital content (Directive (EU) 2019/770 and the law of Estonia) or Section 15 of the Terms of Service.

11. Liability

Section 15 of the Terms of Service applies in full — including the limits of liability and what is never excluded. The Game writes files to your disk: back up your saves. We are not liable for loss of data that a backup would have prevented, to the extent the law allows us to say so.

Before playing, read the health warning in Content & Age Rating: the Game contains flashing lights and screen shake.

12. Changes to this agreement

We give at least 30 days' notice of a material change (Section 17 of the Terms of Service). If you do not accept a change, you can stop using the Game before it takes effect.

13. Law and disputes

This agreement is governed by the law of Estonia, and the courts of Tallinn have jurisdiction. A consumer keeps the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where they live and the right to sue in its courts (Section 19 of the Terms of Service).

The English version is the controlling version; translations are provided for convenience.
