Apeiron Terms of Use

Effective date: 9 October 2026 · Version 1.0

These Terms govern your use of Apeiron (the "Launcher"), the desktop program of the APERTURESyndicate platform operated by APERTURESyndicate OÜ (registry code 17384111, VAT EE102972654), Priisle tee 8, Lasnamäe linnaosa, Tallinn, Harju maakond, 13914, Estonia.

They supplement, and do not replace, the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy and Acceptable Use Policy. Where they appear to conflict with a platform-wide document, the platform-wide document controls (Section 3 of the Terms of Service).

You accept these Terms by accepting the Terms of Service — a APERTURESyndicate account accepts every product document with it. Installing or running the Launcher without an account also means you accept them.

We write these documents in good faith and keep them accurate to how the software actually works. They have not yet been reviewed by qualified Estonian legal counsel.

1. What the Launcher is

A launcher, store and installer for Windows. What it does is described in the Overview; what it reads and sends is in the Privacy Notice. It is free of charge. Games and applications sold or distributed through it may have their own price and their own terms — those apply to them, not to the Launcher.

2. Your licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the Launcher on computers you control, for as long as these Terms are in force.

You may not:

  • sell, rent, lease or sublicense the Launcher;
  • reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble it, except to the extent mandatory law expressly permits regardless of contract;
  • remove or alter our notices, branding or attribution;
  • distribute modified builds, or builds that present themselves as ours;
  • bypass or tamper with signature and integrity checks, the update channel, the store, the local game protocol or a rate limit;
  • use it to distribute software you have no right to distribute, or to install content that has been altered after we signed it;
  • use the local game protocol or the overlay to cheat in an online game, or to disturb other players.

Open-source components keep their own licences, which take precedence over this Section for those components — see Third-Party Licences & Marks.

3. Software that is not ours

The library lists software published by other people — Steam, Epic and GOG games, programs you installed yourself. We do not supply, licence, endorse, support or take responsibility for it. Listing something in your library gives you no rights in it, and launching it through Apeiron changes nothing about your relationship with its publisher.

Artwork we show for third-party software is a label for your own library, not a claim of any right in that software or its trademarks. Names and logos belong to their owners.

4. Installing and updating

Products from our store are installed from signed releases and every file is checked before it is written — Installing & Updating.

Updates are automatic by default, and you can turn them off: the Launcher updates itself, and updates the products it installed, unless you switch it off in Settings → Downloads — for Apeiron itself, for all products, or for one product separately. Updates can include fixes, changes to features and removals. Running a version you declined to update is your choice; we do not guarantee that an old version keeps working against our services.

5. Accounts, ratings and communication

Friends, invitations, ratings and reviews need a APERTURESyndicate account and follow the Acceptable Use Policy. What you post in reviews is covered by Reviews & Ratings; what friends see about you is covered by Friends, Invites & Presence. We may restrict these features where you breach those rules.

6. Overlay and clips

You are responsible for how you use recording and the overlay, including other people's rights in what you record — Overlay & Clips. Some online games and their anti-cheat systems do not allow overlays or recording software. We do not inject anything into a game, but we cannot promise that a third-party anti-cheat will always accept the overlay; read the game's rules, and turn the overlay off for games that forbid it.

7. Availability and changes

The Launcher is provided "as is" and "as available". We may change, add or remove features, change the store listing, stop distributing a product, or discontinue the Launcher. Where a change materially reduces what a paid plan gives you, Section 14 of the Terms of Service applies.

We do not warrant that the Launcher will be uninterrupted or error-free, that it will find every game on your computer, or that a found game will start correctly. This does not affect your mandatory statutory consumer rights under Estonia and EU law, or the conformity rights in Section 15 of the Terms of Service.

8. Liability

Section 15 of the Terms of Service applies in full, including the limits and everything that is never excluded from them.

Specific to a desktop program: keep your own backups. The Launcher writes to your file system when it installs, updates, repairs and removes software, and when it records clips. We are not liable for data you lose that a backup would have preserved, to the extent the law permits us to say so.

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or withdraw your access to the store, updates or online features where you breach these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy. Section 11 of the Terms of Service covers the process and your right to a statement of reasons.

You end this licence by uninstalling the Launcher: Windows → Settings → Apps → Apeiron → Uninstall. Uninstalling asks whether to also remove the products you installed with it and the Launcher's own data folder. It always removes your sign-in tokens, the shortcuts and the start-with-Windows entry. It never removes the clips you saved — they are yours, in the folder you chose.

10. Governing law

These Terms and any dispute about the Launcher are governed by the law of Estonia, subject to the mandatory consumer-protection law of your country of residence in the EU where that applies. the courts of Tallinn have jurisdiction, without prejudice to any non-waivable right you have to bring proceedings where you live.

The English version is the controlling version; any translation is for convenience.
