Moving from ASInstaller

Effective date: 9 October 2026 · Version 1.0

Apeiron replaces ASInstaller. It is the same APERTURESyndicate launcher — same mark, a new engine and a new name — and ASInstaller is no longer developed or supported. This page says what the switch does to what you have.

We write these documents in good faith and keep them accurate to how the software actually works. They have not yet been reviewed by qualified Estonian legal counsel.

1. How you get Apeiron

  • Automatically. ASInstaller updates itself by default; its last update is Apeiron. When it arrives, a window tells you that ASInstaller is no longer supported and offers the move. If you had switched its updates off, nothing happens and ASInstaller simply stays as it was.
  • By hand. Download Apeiron from the website; the old ASInstaller download link gives you Apeiron.

2. What the move does

YoursWhat happens
Applications installed from the ASInstaller store (Resonance, ASAI, Minidi…)Become Apeiron products. Their files are checked in place and adopted — not downloaded again
Games and programs found or added by youCopied into the Apeiron library with their names, artwork you set, hidden marks and last-played time
Settings and sign-inNot copied. You set Apeiron up again and sign in in the browser
Entries in "Installed apps" and shortcuts of ASInstallerRemoved, so you do not end up with two launchers and dead "Uninstall" buttons
The old ASInstaller program fileDeleted when it closes
The old data folder (%LOCALAPPDATA%\APERTURESyndicate\ASInstaller\)Left in place as a backup; delete it yourself when you no longer need it

The move is safe to repeat: nothing is imported twice. It does not delete your games or installed applications.

3. If you want to keep ASInstaller

You can, for now: do not accept the move, and switch off ASInstaller's automatic updates. It will keep working while the services it uses are available, but it receives no fixes and no new features, it will not get new products, and we may stop its store, updates or sign-in without separate notice. We recommend moving.

4. The old terms

The ASInstaller Terms are replaced by the Apeiron Terms of Use and the Apeiron Privacy Notice. The old address /legal/asinstaller-terms now leads to the new terms.

5. Problems with the move

Write to [email protected] with your Apeiron version and what you saw. Do not delete the old data folder until you have checked that your library is complete.
