Gift Keys
Effective date: 7 November 2026 · Version 1.0
A key is a purchase of a subscription for one month or one year, in a different form: instead of the plan landing on your account, you get a code. Whoever enters that code first gets the plan on their account.
APERTURESyndicate is operated by APERTURESyndicate OÜ (registry code 17384111, VAT EE102972654). This page is a set of product terms and part of the Terms of Service and the Refunds & Cancellation policy. Where they say something different, this page applies to keys.
This document is awaiting review by qualified EU and Estonian lawyers.
1. What a key is
1.1. A key is a one-time code that looks like ASGiftKey_…. It gives one product for one
term chosen at purchase: one month or one year.
1.2. A key is a purchase of a product, not money. It is not a means of payment, electronic money, a balance or a gift card. It holds no amount. A key cannot be exchanged for cash, withdrawn or moved to your account balance, except under Section 7.
1.3. A plan from a key works like a regular plan but does not renew on its own. What the product includes is set by its terms at the time of use, and we may change it just as we may change a regular plan.
2. Buying
2.1. Keys are sold on the Billing → Keys page. A key costs the same as that plan at the time of purchase. Payment is one-off, with no renewal.
2.2. We make the contract for a key with the buyer, meaning the owner of the account that paid for it. Keys appear on that page after payment. Our email does not contain the keys.
2.3. We may limit how many keys you can buy in an order and in a day, check an order, and refuse it if we see signs of fraud or a breach of these terms. If we refuse an order, the money is returned.
2.4. Tax. We do not know the recipient's country at purchase, so a key is sold without VAT. VAT applies at activation, by the country of the person who activates it. It is included in the price, and that price does not change. The invoice for activation is issued to the account that activated the key.
3. Activation
3.1. A key is activated on the website only, in Billing. You need an APERTURESyndicate account in good standing and, for an age-restricted product, a suitable age. Access activated on the website also works in our apps.
3.2. A key works once, for whoever enters it first. After activation it cannot be undone, moved to another account or restored.
3.3. The term starts at activation. If a key for the same product is already running on the account, the new term is added to the current one.
3.4. If the account already has this product another way (card, App Store, Google Play, a bundle or a grant), the key does not activate and stays unused. Enter it when the current access ends.
3.5. You can get a key wrong three times a day, then entry is closed until the next day. We may close entry sooner if it looks like someone is guessing keys.
3.6. We do not activate keys where the law or our payment partners do not allow it.
4. How long a key lasts
4.1. An unused key does not expire. A price rise does not affect it.
4.2. If the product is no longer sold, we will replace an unused key with a product of equal value or refund its price to the buyer.
5. Treat a key like cash
Anyone who sees a key can activate it. The buyer is responsible for who receives it and how. If the wrong person activates a key because the code reached them through no fault of ours, we do not refund it or issue a new one. If a key leaked through our fault, we replace it.
6. Passing on and reselling
6.1. You may give a key away or sell it. This is the permission mentioned in the resale clause of the Acceptable Use Policy. It covers keys only, not accounts or any other access.
6.2. If you sell keys, you act in your own name:
- you are the seller to your customer and answer to them for the sale, the price, refunds and your duties as a seller. There is no contract between us and your customer for the sale of a key;
- you pay your own taxes and get any permits your country requires;
- you follow the laws of your country and your customer's country, including EU and Estonian sanctions and export rules. Keys may not be used to get around those rules or sold to persons under EU or UN sanctions;
- you do not present yourself as us, our partner or an official seller, you do not use our logos in a way that suggests we endorse you, and you state the product, term and conditions accurately;
- you tell your customer that a key can be cancelled under Section 7.
6.3. We promise a reseller no price, demand or profit, and we may change or stop selling keys. We do not settle disputes between a seller of a key and their customer.
6.4. We may cancel an account's unused keys, stop it from buying keys or block it for fraud, chargebacks, misleading customers or a breach of this section.
7. Refunds and cancelled keys
7.1. Withdrawal. If you are a consumer and bought a key for yourself or as a gift, you may withdraw within 14 days of purchase while the key is not activated and has not been passed on. The money is returned in full to the same payment method. Write to [email protected].
7.2. No refund after activation or passing on. When you buy a key, you ask us to deliver it right away and confirm that it can be activated from that moment. A key that has been activated or passed on counts as performed.
7.3. Buying to resell is a business activity, so consumer withdrawal rights do not apply to it.
7.4. Someone who received a key from another person did not pay us. For money and refunds they go to whoever gave or sold them the key.
7.5. Cancelled keys. If the payment for a key is refunded, disputed with the bank or turns out to be fraudulent, the key is cancelled. If it was already activated, the access from it ends, whoever activated it. This keeps us from giving products away for free and protects honest people from stolen cards, so buy keys only from sellers you trust. We pay no compensation in that case; claims go to the seller.
7.6. Blocked accounts. A key does not activate on a blocked account. If an account is blocked for breaking our rules after activation, the rest of the term is not compensated.
8. Liability
Our liability for a key is limited to the price the buyer paid for it. These terms do not affect mandatory consumer rights that a contract cannot limit. Governing law and disputes are as in the Terms of Service.
