Account Balance

Effective date: 20 October 2026 · Version 1.0

Your APERTURESyndicate account has one balance in euros. You can see it in the account menu on the website, in Apeiron and under Billing → Overview. It was called the Apeiron balance before; nothing on it changed, it now works across the whole platform.

APERTURESyndicate is operated by APERTURESyndicate OÜ (registry code 17384111, VAT EE102972654). This page forms part of our Terms of Service and our Refunds & Cancellation policy.

This document is pending review by qualified EU and Estonian legal counsel and may be updated to reflect that review.

1. How money gets on the balance

1.1. Top-up. In Billing or in Apeiron you choose €5, €10, €20, €50 or €100 and pay by card through Stripe. The amount lands on the balance as soon as the payment goes through.

1.2. Gift card. A code from an APERTURESyndicate gift card adds its value to the balance. A gift card bought for a friend goes straight to their balance.

1.3. Refunds to the balance. Where a refund can go to the balance — for example an Apeiron purchase you chose to refund there, or a withdrawal from a subscription that you paid from the balance — it comes back instantly.

2. What you can spend it on

2.1. Everything sold by APERTURESyndicate on the website and in Apeiron: plans and bundles, ASAI energy packs, DLC, and games, applications, DLC and mods in the Apeiron store, including those made by independent developers. We are the seller in every one of these purchases.

2.2. The balance is spent in euros. A purchase paid from the balance gets the same invoice with VAT as a card payment. A top-up itself carries no VAT: VAT is charged when you spend the money, by the country of your billing address.

2.3. In our iOS and Android apps the balance is neither shown nor spent — Apple and Google require their own payment for digital purchases there. Buy on the website instead; the plan then works in the apps too.

3. Renewals from the balance

3.1. When a subscription renews and the balance covers the whole invoice, the invoice is paid from the balance and your card is not charged. If the balance is not enough, the card on file is charged as usual; with no card the renewal fails and the subscription ends the usual way.

3.2. You can turn this off with Renew from balance first under Billing → Overview.

4. What the balance is not

4.1. It cannot be withdrawn, paid out to a bank or exchanged for cash.

4.2. It cannot be sent to another person. Gift cards are the way to give money to a friend. In future the balance may also be used to buy items between players inside APERTURESyndicate; even then the money stays on balances and is never paid out.

4.3. The balance is not interest-bearing and is not a deposit. It does not expire.

5. Getting a top-up back

5.1. A top-up can be refunded to the card it was paid with within 14 days, if you have not spent anything from it. Spending even part of it counts as using the top-up, and it can then no longer be refunded.

5.2. Spending is taken from the oldest money on the balance first. Example: you top up €20 on Monday and another €20 on Wednesday, then spend €5. The Monday top-up is used and cannot be refunded; the Wednesday top-up is still whole and can be refunded until its 14 days are over.

5.3. Refund an unspent top-up with Refund to card under Billing → Overview. Banks take five to ten days to show the money. Gift cards and money refunded to the balance cannot be turned into a card refund.

5.4. Nothing here limits a right you have under mandatory EU or Estonian consumer law.

6. Chargebacks and misuse

6.1. If a top-up is charged back through your bank, its amount is taken off the balance, even if that makes the balance negative. While it is negative it cannot be spent; topping up brings it back above zero.

6.2. We may hold or reverse balance obtained by fraud, stolen payment methods or abuse of refunds, as set out in the Terms of Service.

7. Closing your account

Spend the balance or refund unspent top-ups before you delete your account. Once the account is deleted, its balance cannot be restored or paid out.
