Deleting Your Account & Data
This page explains how to delete your APERTURESyndicate account — the single account behind Resonance, ASAI, ASMusic, ASVentor and every other APERTURESyndicate app — and how to remove individual pieces of data without closing the account.
Deletion is self-service and takes effect immediately. You do not need to install anything or contact us first, though you can write to us instead if you prefer.
Delete your whole account
- Open https://aperturesyndicate.com/settings/account in any browser, or go to Settings → Account in the app.
- Sign in if you are not already signed in.
- Scroll to Delete account at the bottom of the page.
- Press Delete account, then enter your current password to confirm.
- The account is closed immediately and you are signed out of every device.
If you cannot sign in — lost password, lost access to your email — write to mailto:[email protected] from any address and say which account you mean. We will verify ownership another way before deleting anything, and we answer within 30 days as the GDPR requires.
Delete part of your data, keep the account
Most content can be removed by you, at any time, without closing the account:
- Playlists, uploads and locker files — delete them in the app where you created them.
- Profile fields — avatar, banner, bio, links and location are editable and can be cleared in Settings → Profile.
- Connected accounts — unlink Google or GitHub in Settings → Account.
- Anything else — listening history, likes, follows, chat history: write to mailto:[email protected] and name what you want removed. This is your GDPR right to erasure applied to part of your data, and it does not affect the rest of your account.
What is deleted
When you delete your account, the following is erased across every service that held a copy — not hidden, not deactivated:
| Data | What happens |
|---|---|
| Account record — email, username, password hash, sessions | Deleted |
| Profile — nickname, avatar, banner, bio, links, social graph | Deleted |
| Uploaded media — audio, artwork, images | Deleted from storage |
| Playlists, likes, follows, listening history | Deleted |
| Chat messages and attachments | Deleted |
| Subscription records held by partner services | Deleted |
What is kept, and for how long
Two things deliberately survive deletion. Both are legal or safety requirements, and neither can be waived by request:
- Invoices and accounting records — kept for 7 years, as Estonian accounting law requires. They contain the billing data on the invoice itself, nothing more.
- The administrative security log — a record of which roles and permissions an account held and who granted them. Technical session data (IP address, User-Agent) is stripped after 30 days, and once the account is gone the identifier left in the log no longer resolves to any person. We also keep a minimal record that a deletion happened, so we can prove we honoured it.
Server logs and raw analytics events are deleted on their own schedule — 30 days — whether or not you close your account. The full schedule is in Data Retention.
